Gelatin, whose pH is close to neutral, is easily absorbed
by our human metabolism. It is therefore the principal
constituent of hard and soft capsules which protect medication
from oxidation and moisture. Gelatin is also used for
the micro- encapsulation of vitamins and as a basic ingredient
in the production of tablets, suppositories and blood
plasma substitutes. |
